The Result: Out of This World

A glorious, almost Mandelbrot-like complexity is simply striking in this "Glitter" photograph (our favorite):

Unusual, over-saturated colors show up inside crystal clear waves, reflecting kaleidoscopic world around them:

There is also a place for pure abstraction, even psychedelic touches:

This image is titled "The Twelve Disciples" - see if you can spot some faces inside that wave, too:

Here is perhaps his most famous image: the wave's "mohawk", an amazingly colorful splash, featured recently inside National Geographic magazine:

Another singular splash:

Inside the belly of the beast: "The Twister" photograph shows what a violent wave is made of -

Even in the absence of killer monster waves, the shorebreak art can look slightly alien... Here is the little "Frosty" guy:

Flying Colors! Creative Paint on Airliners Part - 2

The sky is blue, so why your plane should be simply white? Paint it in all the colors of a sunset... and pretty up the skies! Part-2

Flying Colors! Creative Paint on Airliners Part-1

The sky is blue, so why your plane should be simply white? Paint it in all the colors of a sunset... and pretty up the skies!

Some airline companies are clearly out-painting competition with their groovy air fleet. Often called "aircraft livery", such special paint schemes can be exciting and even inspirational. Japan Airlines with their Disney jumbo jets comes to mind, in particular, plus Australian Qantas Airways has been commissioning famous artists to come up with exotic art for their "birds".

On this page we feature some particularly wild and even outrageous airliner paint schemes, from all over the world - send us more examples you spot in the airports or even if you had opportunity to fly inside one of these yourself...

Breathtaking Examples of Macro Photography

Macro photography is also known as close-up photography. Macro photography means that the image on film is approximately the same size as the subject. It is a type of photography that reveals details which can’t be seen with the naked eye. While we can see a fly on the wall, our eyes are not appointed to make out the fine details of the hairs on its face. It gives us a glimpse into the world of the very small, which goes unnoticed as we hurriedly shuffle through our day. In this showcase, I’ve collected some beautiful macro photos.

Brilliant Bird’s-Eye Photos

One interesting trend we have noticed recently is the use of a bird’s-eye view to take photographs. Modern photographers love to experiment with things and observe how people interact with their work. Although not yet the most common trend, still, as new design styles come up and more and more photographers notice and make use of them, it promises to be an interesting area.

Animal Photography

Animals can make very eye catching subjects to photograph in wild. Taking wildlife photography in a place where the animals don’t fear humans makes your task a bit difficult. In their natural environment, animals often provide many opportunities for taking dramatic shots. Let’s now take a look at some of these dramatic images of animal photography to see emotions in the wild nature.

There is the story about the first 4 pictures.
We can see the explosion of the first H bomb.
The tests were photographied in French Polynesia in 1968.
The bomb was very powerful: 2.6 megatons.
It was something huge.

Stunning Under Water Photography

Here at Inspiredology, we have mentioned the amazing design inspiration that can be derived from Nature. Some of Nature’s brightest colours and fascinating textures and creatures are found deep underwater. As photography technology advances we are able to capture more of this natural beauty, in higher resolution. These higher quality images allow us to really see the intricate detail and colour patterns that are found in the underwater world.

National Geographic Photography Contest 2010

As an admirer of photography I have looked forward to the National Geographic Photo Contest for the past couple years. These photographs are truly inspiring.

The submissions seem to keep getting better every year. Split into 3 categories: people, places and nature, photographers submit their photos to be chosen for the voting galleries. So even if you aren’t a photographer, you can still participate by voting for your favourite photographs! As always many of the photographs showcase the awesome power of nature with amazing views of storms, and the intricate colouring of exotic insects.
